Inspiring Hope, Igniting Learning

5 years ago I lost one of my closest friends Chasey, and her older sister Scout. When they passed away, I wanted to find a meaningful way to continue their legacy, and Fostering Hope is a cause that holds a deep significance to their family. To honor Chasey and Scout, I decided to revitalize a therapeutic garden for adolescents at Fostering Hope's facility. Following their passing, my class held a lemonade sale and raised money to build a garden at the center.

Unfortunately, Fostering Hope sold this facility in 2023, and the foster children lost access to their garden. When my class and I created the garden, we saw first-hand the therapeutic tool the garden was for children. To help continue access to this resource, Fostering Hope suggested that I make individual gardening kits for children in foster care to take with them as they moved across placements. Fostering Hope is dedicated to enhancing mental well-being to children through gardening. Our portable, therapeutic garden kits are designed to introduce the healing power of plants to those in need. Operating in Cleveland, Ohio, we follow a 'buy one give one' model, spreading positivity and support through horticultural therapy.
